Center and LIS Wish List

A combined Wish List from Center School teaching staff is included below in a hyperlink. You can see the teachers last name in the comment section.  If deciding to purchase items off the list please add a gift note to indicate which teacher is the recipient.  All items will be shipped directly to the school.

Center School Wishlist

The Amazon Wishlist items (Sight Word Book, Activity Book, Wiki Stix, and Creative Flakes) were delivered in a damaged box with no recipient or purchaser information. If this was your order please email LitchfieldSchoolsPTO@gmail.com so we may get the items to the correct staff member(s) and thank you!

The link below is a wish list provided by the teachers at  the Litchfield Intermediate School.  The intention is to provide items that will make the days a little more fun for our children, especially in the event of indoor recess.  The first address listed as Dawn Gorack, is the one to use when choosing shipping options.

2021 - Help Wanted and Next Meeting

2021-2022 Help Wanted

PTO Leadership Team Members Wanted - Come to our next meeting to learn more. Each year, new members are inducted in March.  Now is the time to get involved!

Leadership Team Job Description:  Serve as a liaison between the PTO and Admin/Teachers at LIS and Center School and the Litchfield Community.  Help launch community ideas that further our mission. Review all communication.  Choose projects that you feel make our community better (for example Cathy Winters championed volunteerism during her tenure).

This year, the goals of the 2021-2022 PTO are:

  • That everyone (parents, teachers, staff, administrators, children) in our community will feel that they are part of PTO and that all involved will feel a sense of ownership and belonging.
  • That we will create a culture built on a foundation of kindness, social justice and equality, inclusion, and belonging.  Additionally, that we will incorporate and support growth mindset and mindfulness initiatives, which are important for the wellbeing of our children.  (We will align with social/emotional curriculum at our schools.)
  • That we will offer programs to support parents and provide helpful information.
  • That Membership Toolkit will have as close to 100% participation rate as possible.
  • That we will fundraise effectively, unobtrusively, and creatively.

Our Next Meeting is February 2nd at 7:00 PM

We want everyone to participate in the Litchfield PTO meetings. It is a great way to feel connected and we need each other.  We create our community together, one connection at a time.  So, join us and talk about PTO, life, and creating a positive culture in our hometown.  Please mark the date in your calendar. We would love to see you!

Honoring the Custodial Staff

Thank you to Lauren Eterginio and Jennifer Carlson for suggesting that we do something special for the custodial staff who has worked so hard to keep our schools clean and safe.  Each member of the team received a $100 gift certificate to Stop and Shop with the following message.

"Thank you for going above and beyond to keep our schools clean, safe, and open.  Your can-do attitude, your smiles, and the care and pride with which you do your job is appreciated.

Please accept this small token of our gratitude. You are awesome!

Warmly,

Your School Community

(Organized by the Litchfield PTO)"
